Indie singer-songwriter Victor Perry defies genres in his romantic and heartbreaking EP 4 A.M. Nostalgia. At 22, the Thomasville, Georgia native combines rural gospel roots with modern influences of Adele, Sia and Coldplay to create his unique voice.
Lead track “Rainbows” displays Perry’s lyrical talents as he takes you on a musical journey through his broken heart. Perry’s vocal range seems to be endless. Love is complicated, and saying goodbye is sometimes inevitable, which Perry shows on the track “Leave.” “Lighthouse” uses lovely metaphors for his tale of a girl’s complicated feelings and is my favorite track on the EP. “It’s hard to imagine a you without me/Run through my veins and let me be,” sings Perry on the final track “Nostalgia.” It’s a perfect end to the EP as Perry wants to be free of heartbreak and nostalgia that is so relatable.
